Welcome Back to School

Welcome Back to School

Posted on September 18, 2020
Welcome back to school! Read below for information about your schedule.

You can view your schedule on Pinnacle beginning Monday 9/21. If you don’t have access to gradebook/pinnacle please contact the main office at 541 265-9281.

Scheduling for this term has been very challenging and class options are limited. There will be minimal schedule changes for the 1st term.
So how does this year’s scheduling look? We will have 4 terms and they will be 9 weeks each. Each year-long course will be scheduled in 2 terms. You might have English 1st and 2nd term but not have Science until the 3rd and 4th term. You might have Math 1st term and then 4th term. We did our best to split core classes through the 4 terms but there may be terms you have more electives than core. This is ok! You will get all of the core classes you need to be on track for graduation.
We know what you need to take and we have put in in the courses you need for graduation! Because of the limited class options and class size limits as we try to transition to in-person learning you cannot request for your courses to be shifted around. Also, you may have been placed in classes you did not forecast for because of the change to an 8 credit school year and the limited election options. Many underclassmen have been placed in Art and Strength training. Both of these classes count toward earning a diploma.
If you have any of the following issues please email your counselor. YOU..the NHS student should email your counselor, not your parent. We are friendly and would love to hear from you.
1) You are placed incorrectly in a class. (example:  you have already taken Integrated Science and passed the course and you were incorrectly scheduled in it again) **If you failed a course you might be placed back in that course. Credit recovery online is not available 1st term.
2) You are missing a class. Remember you might have an open period because you don’t need a course or maybe you have 2 core courses term 1 and 2 and two core courses terms 3 and 4.
Core courses include English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
DO NOT submit a schedule change to rearrange the order of your courses or the terms of your courses.
We know it is hard to not be in school and that you are unable to talk to us in person. Email us and be patient as we work through things.
No schedules changes will be made after September 25th.
