To assist students in preparing for and applying to college and other post high school options, Newport High School will host College Application Week. This event provides students with the opportunity to learn more about their options for education and training beyond high school. Students will be able to take control of their future and apply. More than 60% of all jobs in Oregon will require some form of education and training after high school. That means one simple thing- the more you learn, the more you’ll earn.
Monday, November 4th will kick of College Application Week. NHS is still looking for sponsors for application fees for students in need. Seniors will have assigned times in the ASPIRE Center as well as many drop in opportunities. Schools including PSU, Willamette, WOU, OCCC, Evergreen State, and Pacific will be present throughout the week. Students and Parents are invited to Financial Aid Night at 5:oo pm on Wednesday. Prizes and swag will be raffled off for those who take part in the week. If you would like to be involved helping with this event, please contact ASPIRE Coordinator Melinda Dye or Counselor Dr. Roller.
