Dear Newport High Community & Citizens of Newport,
Tonight the lights at Morrow Field will be turned on at 20:20 military time in honor of our NHS seniors (8:20 pm) as a beacon of solidarity that signifies our commitment to our students and our community. Together we will continue to shine through this difficult time. Let this light be hope and assurance that you are in our hearts and on our minds. Here at Newport High School, we want to say thank you to all of our students and especially our student-athletes who will be missing their spring sports season. We ask that you “Be the light” to others. Our challenge is for you to call and reach out to someone (a friend, loved one, family member) each and every day to be the light for them. Please encourage those people to be the light for someone else. TOGETHER, we will continue to shine through this adversity. The lights will continue to turn on Wednesday nights at 8:20 pm in honor of our seniors and will light up the stadium for one minute of each school day lost during this pandemic. We miss you all so much and look forward to seeing you again in the future. Please do not stop by the field. Videos/Pictures will be posted on social media. #bethelightOR Sincerely, Newport High School Staff GO CUBS!! |
